"Residence Flamani" is a nod to the Flamani section in the town of Aného, the first capital of Togo, located 45 km from Lomé, bordering the Atlantic Ocean. This part of Aného is where the Royal Flamani Palace is located; and is also where the hotel’s founder spent his childhood.
“Flamani” is a deformation of the name Freeman, the last name of Mr. Thomas Birch Freeman, a young missionary who was the pastor of John Wesley Methodist Mission in Freetown (Sierra Leone), and who lived in the neighborhood in the 19th century.
Residence Flamani is located in La Cité de l'Union or SITO-Aéroport opposite the terminal building of the Lomé international airport, just a 5 minute walk away.
